What's New in TIMS v11.34P1

Key updates in this release include:

  • Migration to AlmaLinux 9: The underlying operating system has been migrated from CentOS to AlmaLinux 9, enhancing security, stability, and performance.
  • RPZ with DNS View Integration: Improved DNS security with Response Policy Zones (RPZ) integrated into DNS Views for enhanced filtering and blocking capabilities.
  • Performance Statistics Report: A new reporting feature providing real-time monitoring of system performance and compliance across all appliances.
  • ELB Configuration: Automated server scaling and efficient traffic distribution across appliances using the new Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) configuration.

Enhancements and Improvements

  • Optimized External DDNS Updates: Enhanced handling and processing of external Dynamic DNS (DDNS) updates for better performance.
  • Support for Record Types in GSLB: Added support for additional record types in Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) to extend flexibility and control.
  • WAF Statistics: Detailed monitoring of Web Application Firewall (WAF) statistics, including the total number of WAF hits, bandwidth, source IP hits, user agents, attack types, and blacklisted IP hits in real-time.
  • HA Statistics with Bandwidth Information: Introduced High Availability (HA) statistics to provide in-depth monitoring of bandwidth utilization and replication status, assisting customers in identifying and mitigating replication delays over a WAN.
  • Microsoft Auto Force Sync: A new feature that automatically synchronizes IPAM configurations to Microsoft appliances for seamless integration.
  • Discovery Engine Enhancements: Customer-driven enhancements have been made to the TCPWave Discovery Engine, providing improved accuracy and efficiency in asset discovery and network inventory management.
  • IPv6 Customer Enhancements: Several customer-requested enhancements to IPv6 support have been implemented, offering more robust IPv6 address management, better compliance with IPv6 standards, and improved integration with other network services.
  • Enhanced Reporting for Network Forensics: New IP to Identity reports provide detailed insights for network forensics, allowing administrators to trace IP addresses back to individual devices or users, aiding in security investigations and compliance.

ADC and Threat Intelligence Enhancements

  • Advanced ADC Features: The latest release includes improvements to Application Delivery Controller (ADC) configurations for better load balancing, failover, and traffic management, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Enhanced Threat Intelligence: Advanced threat intelligence integration for real-time monitoring and alerting of potential threats, providing proactive defense mechanisms to safeguard network integrity.

Alice Enhancements

  • Intelligent Analytics with Alice: The new release features enhanced capabilities for Alice, our intelligent analytics tool, which now offers more detailed insights and predictive analytics for network trends and anomalies, empowering administrators to make data-driven decisions.

Seamless Migration to Version 11.34P1 (Equinox)

This release provides the capability to migrate all prior versions of TCPWave IPAM to the latest 11.34P1 NSOC (Equinox) version. This migration addresses the CentOS End-of-Life (EOL) and ensures continuity of support and functionality. Significant enhancements have been engineered to boost the network defense mechanisms using data science, offering robust security and performance improvements.
