Security through diversity: Our DNS Virtual Machines come with TWC DNS and ISC BIND DNS software, each backing up the other, neither sharing any of the same DNS code, for true diversity. Other IPAMs do not provide any diversity for DNS since they are all ISC BIND based. Only TCPWave has combined two independent processes, working together, in one machine. When most organizations found themselves vulnerable to the Kaminsky exploit, TWC DNS customers were unaffected. Their servers relied on our proprietary DNS code to keep them running while we sent patches out for the BIND side of the server. Using advanced bug detection technology, TWC DNS will automatically switch to the unaffected software and notify your NOC of the problem. No breach of security. No downtime.
Resiliency through advance routing: TCPWave is the only DNS provider to successful marry superior DNS computing with advanced routing technology. This means your DNS network will find ways to reroute traffic automatically. Several layers of advanced routing protocol allow each independent server to react to any, and all, of the common problems that can take down part, or all, of a DNS network. TCPWave leverages VMware's fault management, as well as BGP/OSPF routing protocols, to advertise Virtual IP Addresses (VIPs) into the network in such a way that we are years ahead of our competition, and truly unique in our ability to be the most resilient DNS solution in the industry.
